The computer fraud and abuse act is a tool often used by Government to silence Journalists, writers, artists, activists and others, it was written in the mid 1980’s by some scared politicians who had no idea what they were doing or of the internet as a whole.
This law needs some severe updating and revisions. Aaron’s Law would clarify the wording in the bill and make smaller infractions like sharing a password with a family member or friend or simple terms of service (TOS) violations a lesser crime instead of a “hacking crime”
